Acclaimed folk-pop troubadour Conrad Vingoe brings his brilliant new album to The Lamb in Surbiton this week.

Conrad Vingoe has just put the finishing touches to his latest record, A Quiet Convention, set for release in January.

In the coming months, Vingoe will be giving his favourite venues in south London a taster of the new songs and has a tour of Scandinavia next year in his sights.

Winning deserved praise from BBC6 Music and Acoustic Magazine, Vingoe has crafted a string of poignant and accomplished albums.

A Quiet Convention maintains the intimacy and intricacy of his back catalogue but it contains new textures and harmonies. Vingoe explained: “I am exploring new territories with synths.”

A Quiet Convention was constructed through collaboration with renowned producer Sean Reed (Beth Orton, Dexys Midnight Runners) and an uber-talented rhythm section.

Double-bass player, Ali Friend (Fionn Regan, Red Snapper), and drummer, Sebastian Hankins (The Leisure Society), combine to give drive and resonance to Vingoe’s slick songwriting.

Vingoe’s precise finger-picking style draws comparisons with The Tallest Man on Earth and his crystalline vocals recall the ballads of Turin Brakes, one of a host of major acts Vingoe has supported in previous years.

Next year could hold great things for Vingoe and his gig at The Lamb in Surbiton on November 13 will give a sneak preview of special set of songs.
