Young thespians set to tread the boards at New Wimbledon Theatre

Young actors are set to perform at New Wimbledon Theatre this week.

More than 100 young people from across Merton will take part in TRUCE, a performance inspired by satirical musical Oh What a Lovely War on July 15.

Wimbledon Civic Theatre Trust and New Wimbledon Theatre have joined forces again to transport audiences from World War One into the far distant future as today’s teenagers share eight compelling stories of love, bravery, protest and conflict.

Truce will showcase work by eight local groups this year – Cricket Green School, Harris Academy Merton, Harris Academy Morden, Perseid School, Ricards Lodge High School, Rutlish School, SHINE Merton Saturday School and Uptown UK.

New Wimbledon Theatre’s Creative Learning Manager Andy Alty said: “Everyone here at NWT is enormously excited about this year’s production.

“If you are interested in experiencing the future of theatre for yourself –  then this is the show to see!”

Tickets are available for £5 and can be purchased here http://www.atgtickets.com/shows/truce-summer-showcase-2015/new-wimbledon-theatre/
