Young man violently attacked and by group wielding chairs in Streatham — CCTV released

A young man was violently attacked by a group of men who beat him unconscious with chairs in Streatham in April — police released CCTV in an appeal for witnesses today.

A 19-year-old was attacked by approximately ten people as he was walking along Streatham High Road towards a bus stop on Saturday, April 30.

Police were called at around 10:15pm to a report of a robbery outside Astroria Café and Grill, SW16.

The victim was attacked by the group and beaten unconscious with a chair.

He was taken to hospital with cuts to his head, face and lips but was not seriously injured.

He was robbed of his phone and a small quantity of cash.

The suspects captured by the CCTV released by police are described as black males, aged between 14 and 16, and wearing dark hooded tops.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the individuals in the CCTV footage or stills or who has information that could assist the investigation.
