Woman stabbed to death in Croydon — one man arrested on suspicion of murder

A murder investigation is underway after a woman was stabbed to death in Croydon last night — one man has been arrested.

A man has been arrested on the suspicion of murder after police found a woman, believed to be in her 20s, with multiple stab wounds in Meadvale Road.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 8:55pm on Wednesday, March 23 and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later, at 10:34pm police were called to reports of a male, thought to be in his 30s, stabbed at Gorden Crescent, Croydon.

He was treated for stab wounds to his shoulder. This incident is being treated as linked to the earlier stabbing in Meadvale Road.

The male, believed to be in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently at a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating led by Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn.
