The Tooting, Balham and Furzedown Art Trail, Wandsworth Artists Open House

October 1 & 2, 11am-6pm

Price: free

Wander the streets of Furzedown, Balham and Tooting and marvel at work from local artists, including paintings, prints, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, video, photographs, drop in workshops, tea parties and a guided walk on the 9th.

 

Black History Month, Battersea Library

October 1st , 9:30am-5:00pm

Price: free

A series of events organised in celebration of Black and Asian culture. Highlights include the chance to wear traditional African head-wraps and a poetry writing workshop run by Ugandan-born poet Nick Makoha. Dr Siva Thiagarajah will talk on Sri-Lankan culture meanwhile an Ecuadorian culture spread will include food-tasting, recipes and music.

 

Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair, Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park

27th September – October 2nd

Price: £10 including unlimited re-entry

Comprising over 130 exhibitions the fair is internationally renowned as a hub for buyers, sellers and admirers of 20th century antiques. Its inspiration is based on the compatibility of old and new in modern living.

 

Literary Quiz, The Latchmere, 503 Battersea Park rd, SW11 3BW

3rd October, 6.30pm

Price £1.00

Loads of prizes to be awarded and a jovial atmosphere to match. Test your knowledge on all things literary!

 

Literary Lunch with Dan Leapard, Chez Manny Restaurant, 145-149 Battersea High St

2nd October, 12:30pm

Price: £25.00

Dan Leapard is the baker every top chef wants in his kitchen. The workshop includes hands-on cake, pastry, cookie and bread baking, a three course meal and glass of wine.
