Underdogs put best paw forward at Friends of Tooting Common’s dog show

Tooting terriers, Collier’s Wood collies, Merton mastiffs and Wimbledon westies will be wagging their tails in anticipation of the Friends of Tooting Common annual dog show this Sunday.

Canine commands will be under scrutiny as rollover, sit, heel and play dead, take centre stage.

Fancy dress competitions will separate the bad boys from the good as owners prepare pooch pageantry of the highest order.

The well groomed and well-heeled of Tooting will all be after one of the coveted rosettes on offer.

Dogs not claiming thoroughbred status shouldn’t be put down as classes will include best rescue dog, best veteran and best crossbreed.

Eager retrievers will finally get deserved recognition as they contest for the waggiest tail title.

Sunday’s showcase will decide whether Tooting truly has talent and not the controversial sort which plagued the BGT final.
