A celebrity personal trainer, who runs classes in South West London, wants people to earn their advent calender chocolates through exercise.
A celebrity personal trainer and former RAF Falcons member is urging people to earn their advent calendar chocolates by completing a daily advent challenge exercise video.
Stuart Amory, Director of In-Kilter Fitness Ltd, has taken twitter by storm and attracted worldwide followers since first posting his challenge for people to exercise before opening their advent window last year.
Stuart, who runs exercise classes across South West London, said he wants people to realise exercise is not just 60 minutes in the gym, it’s about altering your daily routine to incorporate exercise.
He said: “You don’t have to go to the gym to lose weight or tone up, just get moving.
“It drives me mad when I see people standing on London underground escalators, I just want to shout, ‘Walk!’.”
“I have become like a child looking forward to opening the Youtube video everyday to see what is in store,” said advent challenge supporter Louise Gregory.
“Stuart manages to get into your head so that even when you’re tempted to do something you know you shouldn’t be doing or when you want to give up, up he pops like little Jiminy Cricket and you just keep going.”
Former personal trainer to Emily Blunt, Sir Trevor McDonald and Gethin Jones, Stuart became a black belt in karate aged 10, Scottish Champion at 13 and has worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor.
After joining the RAF he became a Physical Training Instructor and progressed to a Parachute Training Instructor at the age of 23.
Stuart said in January the amount of Christmas food consumed leads many people to make weight-orientated New Year’s resolutions which are often unrealistic and lead to failure.
“The most important thing is not to look at weight loss as walking up a mountain; take little steps and you will get there,” he said.
Mum of four and avid Twitter fan Deirdre MacAulay is completing the advent challenge from home for the second year running.
“The great thing about the advent challenge is that it doesn’t matter what level of fitness you’re at, anyone can join in,” she said.
“Stuart’s great advice on health and fitness has kept me motivated all year. I can’t wait to see what 2012 brings.”
