Sadiq Khan warns ‘thousands could miss out’ as vote registration deadline for London elections looms

There are only three days left to register to vote to have your say in the London elections and back your chosen Mayoral candidate to take over from Boris Johnson in City Hall’s hot seat.

If you don’t register by Monday 18 April you will not be able to vote at the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections on 5 May.

Mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan MP tweeted: “Register to vote deadline approaching – thousands will miss out unless we spread the word.”

Labour’s Sadiq Khan may lead the polls, but there’s still time to throw your weight behind Conservative Zac Goldsmith if you think he’s the best man for the job.

Does Respect’s George Galloway get your vote, or are you secretly hoping he takes over from Sadiq as MP of Tooting?

Or maybe you want to shake up the political establishment by backing the Green’s Sian Berry or UKIP’s Peter Whittle?

If you really want to start a revolution you could lend your support to Ankit Love, a techno-progressive who wants to introduce flat-pack skyscrapers and legalise cannabis.

Or you could give your vote to Lib Dem Caroline Pidgeon – as long as you’re sure she won’t get in a flap when facing down the London Assembly.

Whoever you decide to back, one thing is for sure – you need to register to vote by Monday or your voice will not be heard.

But don’t panic, it’s easy to register and can be done online via this link.
