Preview: The Rocky Horror Show @ Clapham Picturehouse

By Bethany Whymark

Fancy a more unconventional Friday night? OUT At Clapham and Wandsworth LGBT Forum are screening cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Clapham Picturehouse on Friday June 27, the eve of Pride in London.

The collaborative film club, now in its fifth month, has moved to a bigger screen for what organisers hope will be the biggest event yet.

Audience participation and Rocky Horror-inspired costume is highly encouraged at the pre-film party, which will kick off with DJ sets in the bar from 10pm with the award-winning Myra Dubois acting as MC for the night.

The screening starts at midnight in Screen 1, when audience members can sing along with Tim Curry, Richard O’Brien, Susan Sarandon and Meat Loaf to the film’s classic hits.

Clapham Picturehouse and Wandsworth LGBT Forum joined forces to launch the OUT At Clapham film series at the start of the year, which aims to show films that address lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues.

The club kicked off in February with a preview of Oscar-nominated Dallas Buyers Club and has since shown Yves Saint Laurent, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Concussion.
