Pianist hoping to inspire youngsters at launch of new EP

Piano composer Joe Alexander Shepherd wants to make classical music popular among younger music after launching his debut EP ‘Time’.

The concert was held at the St Vedast-Allias-Foster Church in London, opposite St Pauls Cathedral on Friday the 8th of June.

Australian singer song-writer Natalie Gauci, who won Australian Pop Idol 2007, was Joe’s supporting act.

Joe said: “It’s been mind-blowing, the reaction has been really lovely, and a standing ovation is not what I expected to be honest.”

Joe has been composing since he was 16 and his main inspiration has been the composer Ludovico Einaudi, an Italian classical contemporary composer.

Joe said: “I want to make this kind of music trendy and more popular to our modern era.”

His dream would be to support Einaudi on tour, as his music is always played on the BBC and ITV.

Time was released in March and mastered in Hollywood by Patricia Sullivan, who has worked with many famous composers such as Hans Zimmer.

Joe is signed to Network music group in Vancouver, Canada and it is his full time job composing music.

‘Time’ is available to download on iTunes.
