“Oh no it isn’t. OH YES IT IS!”

Yes, it’s that time of year again and with only 22 days until Christmas, this year’s New Wimbledon Theatre pantomime is nearly ready.

The theatre is gearing up with First Family Entertainment to produce another show-stopping pantomime with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Families of all ages will be treated to this classic fairytale in which a beautiful young princess, on the run from a wicked Queen, finds seven little friends to keep her safe from the Queen’s murderous attempts.

Priscilla Presley, wife of the late King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley, will be making her pantomime and London stage debut as the Wicked Queen.

She is best known for co-starring with Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun Series and for her role as Jenna Wade in Dallas, the most successful primetime soap opera of its time.

She said she was delighted to be making her debut in the pantomime.

“I have heard such wonderful things about British pantomime; the script is hilarious, my costume is sensational and I can’t wait to get started and give the people of London my Wicked Queen!”

She added: “What a wonderful honour to be spending Christmas in such a beautiful city and be a part of this festive family tradition”.

Presley will be joined by Warwick Davis, who will play Prof, the chief dwarf, and Jarred Christmas, starring as Herman the henchman.

Davis is returning to New Wimbledon Theatre after five years and is most known for his roles in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of The Jedi and the Harry Potter films.

Christmas is an award winning comedian, appearing in Let’s Dance for Comic Relief, Mock the Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.

He said he was really excited to be playing Herman the henchman.

“It’s a great role to play. At times he’s a bit mean and nasty but he’s got a heart of gold and I get to perform with Priscilla Presley which is awesome.”

New Zealand born Christmas admitted he’d never seen a panto when he was asked to play Herman.

“Panto wasn’t something I had ever thought about so when I got the call it was something that I thought, yeh hi ho I’ll have a go, to quote the dwarfs, because it’s a new experience and it has a lot of acting or over acting so I’m into it.”

He was particularly excited about the props involved: “I get to carry around a dagger! It makes me feel cool and tough and I made sure I get to use it. I basically said I’m walking if I don’t get to use the dagger.”

On a more serious note, he said rehearsals were tough but that everyone was on the same page and wanted to make it funny.

When asked how pantomime compared to stand-up, Christmas said: “Stand-up can be a very solitary and lonely affair at times but this is a huge group effort and it’s really fun, especially when you’re on stage with the entire cast.”

Kevin Wood, Chief Executive for First Family Entertainment, said: “This show is going to be the best yet!”

But will Snow White meet her handsome Prince?

With the promise of spectacular sets, sparkling costumes, sensational songs, dazzling dance routines and bags of audience participation we can’t wait to find out!

The show will run from Friday December 7 2012 – Sunday January 13 2013.

Tickets range from £10 – £29.50 with premium seats also available.
