The Old Frizzle celebrated being named Pub of the Year at the Merton Business Awards on Wednesday night.
The Wimbledon pub won a public online vote to claim the 2017 prize, ahead of The Prince of Wales and The Hand in Hand.
Twenty pubs were nominated by members of the public and 2,020 votes were cast in all to determine the winner.
The Old Frizzle’s deputy manager Carlos Pereira, 38, expressed his delight that members of the local community had voted for them.
He said: “It is quite rewarding to win and uplifting to know that neighbours and regulars voted for us.
“There are so many pubs around here so it’s good to be recognised.
“I’m in a really good mood now.”
Sarah Mackie, 28, general manager of The Prince of Wales, said they were pleased to be in the final but hoped to come home with the top award next year.
“We’ll be going for it next year,” she said.
Helen Clark Bell, chief executive of Love Wimbledon, described the awards ceremony at Epsom Downs Racecourse on Wednesday as a terrific evening.
She said: “It was a great opportunity for the wide variety of businesses in Wimbledon to celebrate.
“The Prince of Wales staff were absolutely delighted, dancing their way to the stage.”
