Young man arrested after death of woman at Ravensdale Gardens in Croydon

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder of a woman at an address in Croydon.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 6am yesterday to a woman, 38, suffering from stab injuries at an address in Ravensdale Gardens, and she died at the scene at 6.48am.

The 23-year-old man was found yesterday in Walworth Road in Southwark suffering from stab injuries and was taken to a south London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition and is under arrest on suspicion of murder.

Next of kin have been informed but the woman is yet to be formally identified.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place today at Croydon Public Mortary.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command led by Detective Chief Inspector Will Reynolds are investigating.
