Jamie Dornan: I have hang-ups too! Fifty Shades of Grey star confesses body insecurities

Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan is backing up research that claims that men are body conscious – by admitting he has hang-ups too.

While the fairer sex are traditionally seen as the most body conscious it seems that men – even Mr Grey himself – suffer from insecurities.

According to a study, by cosmetic surgery Transform, men increasingly perceive their bodies negatively spending a whopping average of £261 a month on beauty products and treatments.

The Hollywood hunk said: “No matter how many times you get filmed with your top off and the photographers are saying ‘Oh, you look great, add more oil’, you have all these things ingrained in your head – insecurities about yourself.

“All the people in the world saying stuff like this isn’t going to alter that. I only had four weeks to work out for this role [Fifty Shades of Grey].

“I would have liked more time. But like I said, I don’t think I am ever going to be happy with how I look.”

In fact, one in three men in London say their least favourite body part is their stomach and over 50% said they dress to minimise this problem area.

Just over a fifth of men have either considered or had a non-surgical procedure and just under a fifth have either considered or had a cosmetic procedure.

Unsurprisingly, men have admitted to feeling most body confident between the ages of 25 and 30.
