Harlequins launch inaugural Rival Ride for good causes

Members of the public will ride alongside Harlequins players on the 200km inaugural Rival Ride from Twickenham to Gloucester for the Aviva Premiership on Saturday April 14.

At least 150 cyclists will join retired Harlequins players Olly Kohn, George Lowe, Mel Deane and Jim Evans on a two-day bike ride from Friday 13 April to Saturday 14 April, from Twickenham Stoop to Kingsholm stadium in Gloucester, to watch the Harlequins play Gloucester Rugby in the Aviva Premiership.

George Lowe, who made 139 appearances for Harlequins admitted he is looking forward to taking part in the ride, which will raise money for the club’s charitable foundation.

He said: “We’re all very excited to be taking part in the first ever Harlequins Foundation Rival Ride.

“I’ve not cycled before so I’m looking forward to taking up a new sport and travelling down to the game with some of my old team mates, by bike not coach this time!”

The Harlequins Foundation is asking all participants to commit to raising £500.
