Hampton Wick by-election triggered by Twickenham result which saw Tania Mathias oust Vince Cable

A by-election to elect a councillor to serve Hampton Wick ward will be held on July 2.

The election has been triggered following Dr Tania Mathias’ resignation after ousting Lib Dem grandee Vince Cable and becoming MP for Twickenham on May 5.

A Notice of Election has been published on the Richmond Council website.

Any residents in the ward not already registered to vote must do so by June 16 and the final deadline to vote by post or to change existing postal or proxy arrangements should reach the council by 5pm on June 17.

New applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm on June 24.
