All guns blazing for AFC Wimbledon as they head to Oxford in search of a third win on the bounce

Oxford United v AFC Wimbledon @ Kassam Stadium

Saturday, November 22 @ 3.00pm

Manager Neal Ardley is expecting AFC Wimbledon to go all out for the win when they travel to Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium tomorrow.

The Dons are looking to end Oxford’s five-game winning-streak in the fixture and will be buoyed by United’s poor home record this season which has seen them pick up just 11 points from eight games.

Ardley said: “I’m well aware of our record against Oxford and, hopefully, we can turn that around.

“We’ll go there all guns blazing on Saturday.”

Having won their last two fixtures – a 3-1 FA Cup first round replay win against York and a 1-0 away league win at Dagenham & Redbridge – Ardley is looking for his side to make it three on the trot.

But the Dons have found it difficult on their travels this year, picking up eight points in as many games on the road, and they go into the game on the back of a hectic run of matches.

“This will be our fifth game in two weeks and only their third match in the same spell, but we’re not going to use that as an excuse,” said Ardley.

Leading goalscorer Matt Tubbs returned to form with two goals against York, but winger Sean Rigg is unavailable due to suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season and Andy Frampton will miss the game due to illness.

Star man: Matt Tubbs – Two goals in his last outing puts the Dons’ leading striker in contention to find the net again.

Danger man: Danny Hylton – The league’s top goalscorer will be looking to add to his tally.

Last encounter: February 1, 2014: League Two – Oxford United 2-1 AFC Wimbledon (Goals: Oxford – Newey 18, Connolly 56; Wimbledon – Wyke 75)
