Ghostpoet, the critically-lauded Mercury Prize nominee and south London native, will be headlining a Streatham gig for PRS for Music on February 11 – WIN TICKETS WITH SWL.

Since rising to fame in 2011 with his debut album, Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam, Ghostpoet’s Obaro Ejimiwe has been making waves on the alt-rock scene with his gentle brand of moody story-telling.

His debut was compared to a ‘half-asleep Streets’, Ejimiwe takes his listeners on a tour through London dreamscapes littered with personal moments, tiny triumphs and heartbreak.

Ghostpoet said: “It’s great to play a gig for PRS, as well as being a wonderful organisation for up and coming UK artists, they’ve also played an important part in my career development thus far. Looking forward to it!”

He will be joined by Bristol-based electronic dance musicians Dr Meaker, DJ producer and soul singer-songwriter Andrew Ashong for an evening spanning the worlds of hip-hop, soul and electronica and PRS for Music Streatham HQ.

The series of live performances, PRS presents, are promised to be bigger and bolder than last year’s series which starred indie rockers PEACE and Boxed In.

PRS for Music champion artist copyrights and represent more than 115,000 UK songwriters, composers and music publishers.

PRS for Music’s head of marketing, Paul Sims said: “These events give us, as an organisation, the opportunity to open our doors and engage with our licensees, members and stakeholders. We want to put something on that brings to life the fantastic work our members are producing.”
