Chuka Umunna won the seat for Labour in 2017 with a 47.1% majority, with 38,212 votes giving him a 68.5% share of the vote, an increase of 15.5% on the 2015 election.

The constituency voted 79.46% to remain in the EU referendum.

The seat, which was created in 1918, has been held by Labour since 1992, when they won it from the Conservatives.

Umuna, the MP since 2010, is not standing again after electing to contest Cities of London & Westminster for the Liberal Democrats.

He said: “Streatham has been my home for over 20 years, my family are growing up here and it is my passion to make it a safer, cleaner, greener and fairer place to live, work and thrive.
