Elderly man grabbed and large amount of cash stolen in Wandsworth bus robbery — CCTV released

A 65-year-old man was grabbed and robbed of a large amount of cash while on board a bus in Wandsworth last year, police have released CCTV footage today. 

At about 10.35am on Tuesday, October 25 2015 the victim boarded a 295 bus on Plough Road, SW11, and sat at the back.

The suspect boarded the bus at the same stop and sat close to the victim.

Earlier that day the victim had withdrawn a large amount of cash from a nearby bank.

After a short while, the suspect approached the victim and grabbed him and stole an envelope containing the cash from his pocket.

He then got off the bus and made off.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 6ft tall and unshaven. He wore a black coat, black trousers and grey trainers.

Police want to hear from anyone who may recognise this man.
