Clinton cocktails and Trump voodoo dolls: Where to watch the US Election in London

The fierce race in the battle for US presidency will finally draw to a close on Tuesday night.

America and the world will be gripped to see whether the highly-controversial Donald Trump or the slightly less-controversial Hillary Clinton will become the 45th President of the United States.

Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican or even Tea Party, London will be on top of the dramatic events set to unfold.

Here are some venues across the city where you can celebrate or commiserate.

Steam and Rye

Where: 147 Leadenhall St, London, EC3V 4QT

When: 7pm-3am

The Steam and Rye really is pulling out all the stops for election night.

You can enjoy an all American inspired evening of food and drinks.

But that’s not all, for one night only customers can ride the Trump or Hillary Bull in the true spirit of our Trans-Atlantic cousins.

Tables cannot be booked on this night so be sure to get there early or you may miss out on a great party at the Steam and Rye.


Riley’s Sports Bar

Where:  80 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4TE

When: 9.30pm-6am

This event has been organised by the Conservative Press campaign group and the Parliament Street think tank and will be decorated with US election material, snack food and drinks.

Ticket prices vary from £16.22-£146.47.


The Blue’s Kitchen, Shoreditch

Where: 134-146 Curtain Rd, London EC2A 3AR

When: 5pm-12am

If you like free shots, free nachos and live music then this is the event for you.

You could be mistaken for thinking you’re in the States with a brass band and confetti also set to feature as well.

However, avert your eyes if you’re a Trump fan as there’s set to be a voodoo doll of the Republican candidate on display.

Entry is free.


The Social – Election Section (US Version)

Where: 5 Little Portland St, London, W1W 7JD

When: 11pm-6am

The social with have two huge screens of constant election coverage through the night as well as state dependent drinks offers.

The event will also include a Politics Team to discuss the issues surrounding the election as well as some US and UK craft drinks.

Tickets are £5.90 and are likely to sell out quickly.


Student Central UCL does US Election Night

Where: University College London, Malet St, London WC1E 7HY

When: 10pm-6am. (Last entry at midnight)

This does exactly what it says on the tin. Drinks will be provided in the UCL bars with live coverage of the US election results.

Tickets are not required.


The Stafford Hotel

Where: The American Bar, 6-18 St James’s Pl, St. James’s, London SW1A 1NJ

When: 9pm-3am

Customers will be treated with specials such as the Trump salt beef and Clinton Club sandwiches.

Or you can even have your burger ‘Trumped up’ if you want.

Tickets are £20 to view the US election coverage here.


Waterfront Bar and Kitchen

Where: Surrey Street, London, WC2R 2NS

When: 9pm-2am

The Waterfront Bar will be providing big screen coverage of the US election results which will be serving American food, drink and beer.

There are not tickets for this event so be sure to secure a good spot early.


The K Bar

Where: The Kensington Hotel, 109-113 Queen’s Gate, SW7 5LP, London

When: 6pm-6am

At The K Bar you can enjoy a night of American-inspired drinks and bar snacks while you watch the results roll in.

On arrival you’re treated to a complimentary Hell Toupee cocktail if you dare try one of those.
