BREAKING NEWS: Reports of shots fired at Oxford Circus tube

Police are responding to reports of an incident at London’s Oxford Circus tube station, amid reports people have been seen running away from the station.

Metropolitan Police were called at 4.38pm after reports of shots fired on Oxford Street, which was crowded with Black Friday shoppers and rush hour commuters.

British Transport Police said officers were at the scene and warned people to avoid the area, in a statement they said there was one report of a woman sustaining a ‘minor injury’.

The police have not yet located any trace of suspects or evidence of shots fired.

Those on Oxford Street are advised by the police to seek safety inside a building while police investigate the incident.

Both Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road tube stations are closed.
