AFC Wimbledon boss hopes recent loss will provoke reaction from players ahead of Luton Town match

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley hopes his players bounce back to form against Luton Town following a defeat to Yeovil Town last week.

The Dons six-match unbeaten streak came to an abrupt end last Saturday when Jack Compton’s hat-trick ensured an unexpected 3-2 victory for relegation threatened Yeovil Town after they had twice taken the lead.

Ardley hopes the frustrating defeat will serve as a reminder to his players not to get complacent as they look to continue their play-off push.

Ardley said: “We have eight games in four weeks and we need to bring our best to every single one of them.

“If we don’t, then we fall back into inconsistency and we’ll be struggling to keep tabs on the top seven spots.”

Ardley added his remit is to keep everyone on the boil of what looks likely to be demanding remaining third of the season.

The Dons are four points off the play-offs but have two games in hand over sixth-placed Leyton Orient and boast a superior goal difference.

Luton ended the Dons unbeaten away record in September when two late goals from Jack Marriot ensured a comfortable victory for Town after the Dons had Karleigh Osborne red carded.

Town are four points behind Wimbledon and have been struggling to find consistency all season, but have improved recently with two wins out of their last five.

The Dons welcome back Dannie Bulman after a hamstring injury, while Sean Rigg and Jonathan Meades are also in contention to start the game.

They are also expected to hand Kelle Roos his debut, after the goalkeeper completed his loan move from Championship side Derby County in what was a quiet transfer window for the Dons.
